So, like a family of small woodland animals we appear blinking into the spring daylight, still dazed from our six month hibernation.
And we’ve actually got some news for you……..the dates for this year’s Sitges Festival Internacional De Cinema De Catalunya have been announced. It’s a little later than usual,7th to 17th October, and the first issue that has immediately come up is that, as this clashes with Hispanic Day on October 12th, hotel rooms appear to be more expensive and very much in demand so get ’em booked up early.
As usual we’ll be bringing you news and previews of as many of the films that are being shown as is humanly possible and once the festival begins we’ll be blogging (eventually!) and tweeting all of our exploits and thoughts on the films we’re seeing.
Keep an eye out for more news as it comes.

The feature length version of the cult Belgian animated TV show.
WTF or weeping idiots…which will we be after this?
This film looks amazing. That’s all I’m going to say.
This looks weird enough to have grabbed our attention, and it’s absolutely nothing to do with the amount of nakedness in the trailer…
This is totally unconfirmed but I think there’s a chance that the great Francis Ford Coppola will be attending Sitges this year. This is based on Tweets that I saw over the weekend, however I think they were in Catalan and unfortunately my Catalan is about as good as my Mandarin Chinese.
We’re also hearing that French Zombie film LA HORDE is likely to be playing at Sitges this year.
Fruit Chan’s DON’T LOOK UP is expected to be shown at this year’s festival, although as I write I’m still waiting for this to be confirmed. Our knowledge of his previous work is limited at best however a couple of years ago we managed to catch DUMPLINGS which was truly bizarre, but in a good way.
We’ve never seen any of the Troll films and I get the impression we haven’t missed much, but we’re suckers for documentaries about filmmaking.
