Great news today from the festival. You can read the full announcement HERE, but here’s a short breakdown of some of the highlights:

  • Nicolas Cage (yes, you read that right!) will bringing his legendary intense craziness to this year’s festival. You can question some of his film choices recently but there’s not doubt that he’s one of the most individual talents of his generation.
  • Ed Harris has been a favourite of ours for a long time and he’s going to be receiving this year’s Grand Honorary Award which is well deserved for an actor with his body of work.
  • Horror legend John Carpenter will be in attendance and will be playing a concert with some of the themes and soundtracks from his vast back catalogue.
  • Other names announced are director Peter Weir, actresses Pam Grier, Traci Lords, Helga Liné and actor Ron Perlman, who are all prize winners at this year’s Festival.

There have also been a whole host of films announced and the pick for us is Gaspar Noe’s Climax. We don’t necessarily like all of his movies but they are usually amazing spectacles and definitely give you something to talk about over a beer later.

That’s all for now, more updates as we get them

There’s Been An Awakening…

….have you felt it?

It’s about that time that we shake off the humdrum day jobs and look towards the Sitges Festival (and now the stars) for some inspiration. The first news has emerged from the festival and it means that this year’s theme is Star Trek, and whilst we’re more in the ‘Wars’ camp than the ‘Trek’ camp, we still think it’s pretty cool.
