French cinema has been a bit his and miss with me. On the upside previous Sitges favourites like Chrysalis, Renaissance, Rivals and also the recent Mesrine films sit proudly in the collection but other than that, I’m waiting to be impressed. They are often over-long, too heavy on the deep and meaningful and excessively moody – but our friends over at Twitch seemed to rate it so in my book that makes it worth a look.
