Dir. Tomm Moore, Noraa Twomey; France/Belgium/Ireland; 2009; Brendan Gleeson (v); 75 mins
I’ll have to admit straight off that we won’t be seeing this, though that’s more due to lack of opportunity than lack of interest. I’ve a boot firmly planted in the Irish camp and the story told here, and the animation with which it’s presented, looks great.
Though the trailer shows a somewhat original/fresh style, when coupled with the story this still feels a more traditional piece and, ultimately, our appreciation leans more towards the less traditional style of animation. PANIQUE AU VILLAGE is still the one not to miss for us.
