Sitges announces full line up

Here we go people.

Sitges have now announced their full line up.

We’ll be sharpening our pencils over the coming days to complete our list of film previews to help you (and us) pick out the winners from the also rans.

Malice in wonderland at Sitges

maliceinwonderlandposterWhy those sneaky peeps at Variety. Always getting the drop on our Sitges stories. We obviously don’t pay well enough. Here they talk about upcoming Josh Hartnett vehicle GUNSLINGER but tucked away in the text is the news that Simon Fellows’ MALICE IN WONDERLAND, a modern take on the classic fairytale, Alice in Wonderland, set in the North East of England, will be screened at Sitges next month.

Le Donk and Scor-Zay-Zee Trailer Arrives

We’re big Shane Meadows fans here at Corridorstyle, particularly the stuff he’s done with Paddy Considine so this looks right up our street. Apparently it’s some kind of initiative he’s behind to make feaure films in only five days, and this is the first.

Paddy Considine plays loser Le Donk who’s just discovered a rapping protegee, Scor-Zay-Zee, and this ‘documentary’ charts his efforts to create the next Eminem.

Check out the trailer below, apparently his next film is areally bleak horror movie and is a return to ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’ territory. We’ll definitely be front of the queue for both films.

Heartless to show at Sitges

heartlessWe’ve only just picked this up and there’s nothing official yet on the Sitges website but it would appear that Philip Ridley’s HEARTLESS will be showing at the festival.

A little ashamed to say that, of Ridley’s previous work, I’ve only seen THE KRAYS but Todd Brown over at Twitch Films and Mark Kermode (of all people) at the Beeb have piqued my interest to catch this one.

I was impressed with Jim Sturgess in ACROSS THE UNIVERSE and only recently got around to watching IN BRUGES where Clemence Poesy was certainly easy on the eye and handled herself comfortably across from Colin Farrell

From a link over at IMDB it would appear that Todd Brown has also churned out a review of HEARTLESS from the FRIGHTFEST screening but the link’s presently not working. Come on Todd, don’t hold out on us.

Sitges News Update

We’ve not received the official update yet but it appears that the films that are going to make up the Seccion – Oficial Fantastic have been announced.

You can see the full list here, we’ll be putting up previews of the individual films over the next few days.

Sitges News

Ok. It’s a week old and we’ve pinched it off Variety but we’ve a few new films to add to the ever-growing Sitges festival program.

No final confirmation yet on the official Sitges site but it Looks like LA HORDE will indeed be showing along with Romero’s SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD, Christian Alvart’s PANDORUM, and Kathryn Bigelow’s THE HURT LOCKER (probably included as it’s Spanish Premier)

Inside a month to go now so we’re officially excited
