Just a follow up to our earlier post where we mentioned some new films Sitges had confirmed as part of their ever growing line-up.
[REC]2 – Our Sitges Preview
The batteries have been recharged and the camera’s rolling once more. Dim the lights and turn up the night-vision. The sequel to 2007’s claustrophobic Blair-zombie
Sitges News
Ok. It’s a week old and we’ve pinched it off Variety but we’ve a few new films to add to the ever-growing Sitges festival program.
No final confirmation yet on the official Sitges site but it Looks like LA HORDE will indeed be showing along with Romero’s SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD, Christian Alvart’s PANDORUM, and Kathryn Bigelow’s THE HURT LOCKER (probably included as it’s Spanish Premier)
Inside a month to go now so we’re officially excited
Sitges Rumours Part Two
We’re also hearing that French Zombie film LA HORDE is likely to be playing at Sitges this year.
Initially I really liked the look of this as the trailer made it look like SNATCH meets 28 DAYS LATER and also reports were coming in from sites such as TWITCHFILM giving it glowing reports.
However, reading the tweets coming in from this weekend’s FRIGHTFEST, it seemed to get a fairly unanimous thumbs down so now I’m not too sure.

Sitges Rumours Part One
We’re expecting stuff to be confirmed over the next few days, but here’s the first of a couple of rumours we’ve had leaked to us recently:
Fruit Chan’s DON’T LOOK UP is expected to be shown at this year’s festival, although as I write I’m still waiting for this to be confirmed. Our knowledge of his previous work is limited at best however a couple of years ago we managed to catch DUMPLINGS which was truly bizarre, but in a good way.
You can view the IMDB entry HERE, apparently it’s something to do with the characters in a horror movie coming to life and messing with the director?? I’ve included what I think might be the trailer below, it’s not anything I’m getting over excited about, but you’re more than welcome to try to convince me otherwise.
Alien – Our Sitges Preview
To commemorate 30 years since the release of this classic, Sitges will be screening Scott’s “favourite version” of the film that first had me checking under my bed. Check for yourself….
Tsai Ming-Liang’s “VISAGE” opens the Sitges NOVES VISIONS category.
Sitges have today announced that Tsai Ming-Liang’s VISAGE will open their NOVES VISIONS category.
Along with the news release Sitges have announced several additions to the festival’s growing program. With a little over a month until kick off we can now expect the final list of films to start taking shape fairly rapidly.
Best Worst Movie – Our Sitges Preview
We’ve never seen any of the Troll films and I get the impression we haven’t missed much, but we’re suckers for documentaries about filmmaking.
IP Man – Our Sitges Preview

Given that this is a biopic of the guy who taught Bruce Lee how to fight and it’s written by the guy who wrote Dragon Tiger Gate, maybe it’s worth a visit?
Sitges News – Timer To Premiere At Sitges
This is something that I picked up off twitter earlier today but is unconfirmed and not officially announced by the Sitges Film Festival yet.
Apparently, Timer is getting it’s European premiere at this year’s festival. From the look of the trailer it doesn’t exactly look like a standard Sitges film, but we’re a sucker for a good rom-com and may well give it a try.
Check out the trailer at the official site below:
